| The
Continuing Effect...
Approximately 80,000 bug busters will now be in the market looking
to take up other appointments. This may hot up competition,
but personnel and line management beware! At a time when we
focus on the job at hand, excessive unscreened candidate response
can be distracting. Agencies of choice with clients will be
those who face to face profile applicants, they will produce
a shortlist worthy of the job. Of course technical skills will
still be at a premium especially during the 1st six months of
2000 and will continue to yield higher than average remuneration.
We can see (figures 5 & 6) current assignments outside of the
South East identify traditional industries needing a broad band
of skills but capable of paying Central London rates. For those
travelling from the Midlands this can represent a saving of
£5,000 per year in travel costs, or earned income of £9,000.
