Job Title: Fire Prevention Manager
Department: Safety and Security (Operations)
Responsible to: Health & Safety and Security Manager
Responsible for: Frontline Fire & Safety Officers

Job Purpose:
To provide H&S and Fire Prevention advice and training for all members of the workforce and to establish a safety culture via enforcement of policy and proactive and progressive monitoring of all Health & Safety and Fire issues.
 
Key Accountabilities:
1. To carry out Fire Prevention walk round inspections and produce a hard copy report and any action required alongside the H&S weekly inspections.
 
2. To manage and ensure timely and effective execution of the following statutory tests: Fire detection systems, Sprinkler bell and pressure drop tests, Hose reels and Emergency lighting. These tests will be necessary in all premises around the site. Records of these tests are to be compiled for each of the systems.
   
3. Maintain a logbook for weekly checks on extinguishers and reporting of any damage on site. This logbook will assist in completing annual services.
   
4. To carry out and maintain quarterly functional tests on all hydrants (public versus private) and document in log book. Functional test, standpipe, key and bar required and checks for mud and collapse of hydrant walls.
   
5. To establish a relationship of mutual benefit with the Fire Brigade and liaise with contact when on site in order to conduct 11D inspections.
   
6. To ensure that proper storage of gas is achieved and remedial action when regulations or license conditions are not adhered to. A record is to be maintained and retained in the H&S office.
   
7. To carry out the role of Lead Officer for Frontliner Event Fire and Safety Officers, this involves consistent application of the Fire Officer Manual and Fire Safety Standards at events.
   
8. Assist with the enforcement of the H&S policy, in particular actively enforcing control of contractors and the fire policy.
   
9. Assist with fire officer training and company staff fire training to cover the 6 points of basic fire awareness, and provide the extinguisher module. This will also involve maintaining fire training records. Records to be kept in the H&S office.
   
10. Assist with fire safety reviews and inspections of any W(L)L/ QED properties as required.
   
11. Assist in the formulation of emergency procedures ensuring full review of all procedures annually. Promote the plans across the company and provide training where necessary. Ensure process of updating emergency procedures manual for all buildings is achieved annually. In addition assist in the planning and execution of all emergency action drills for all venues. This will include certificates production, signing off and placing in the fire log, and updating training records for all in attendance.
   
12. Co-ordinate and assist the H&S manager in the forecasting of means of escape needs during any redevelopment or fitting out of offices or buildings. To be filed in the H&S management folder.
   
13. Monitoring the fire certificate compliance spreadsheet on a monthly basis. Compliance sheet attached.
   
14. Purchase and arrange for fitting of all fire safety and health & safety signage across the site and venues in accordance with the safety signs and signals regulations. This will include provision and forecasting of an appropriate operating budget.
