Our expertise was called upon to provide a fresh perspective for improving the operational processes, for serving customers and the through flow of information within the business. A team was despatched to work through a sample of this 360 store chain which included 'franchises'. This initial assessment highlighted areas of weakness in till operations, customer enquiries and also controls. Policies were formulated, implemented and rolled out to all the branches with improved customer service and till operations, which resulted in improved sales and profits.

National luggage retailer
SSR were contacted to conduct an initial risk assessment of the business processes. The findings brought up a negative stock figure, which revealed false accounting and collusion at store, distribution and head office level. SSR provided a project manager and a team of auditors at store, distribution and head office. One month of investigations led to the suspension of a number of senior staff and recovery from suppliers of significant sums. Subsequent discovery helped the formulation of operational procedures and the reinstatement of profits, recovering some of the store loss.

International duty free retailer
Our initial assistance was sought to undertake the setting up of a greenfield application. Using a team to implement audit and business controls, to provide a secure stock control environment for third party groupage contractors, this reduced the time required to complete delivery checks and helped in the strategy to facilitate 'bar code audits' where they had not been in use previously. This reduced man hour expenditure and improved the overall business efficiency.

National convenience chain
Requested to complete a review of physical security procedures, it became clear that although not seen the client was suffering excessive losses from collusion and mall administration. A meeting with the MD, Finance Director and Operations Director lead to an audit review of policy and procedures followed by a national store audit. The findings and subsequent implementation of new policy and procedures lead to an enhanced profit margin and a safer working environment for staff.
